It appears that the fate of the prominent businessman was sealed by an altercation between him and the national intervention unit at the Zimbali Estate in Ballito. This is a luxurious estate located near Durban.
Suspected Links to a Crime Heinous
Unbelievable events occurred in Richards Bay Central Business District a day before Mkhize passed away. In a terrifying parking lot altercation, five innocent lives were lost. Authorities have suggested that Mkhize may be connected to this tragic event, placing him in the center of their investigation.
The Conflict at Zimbali Estate
Zimbali estate, a bastion for luxury and opulence was caught in the middle of a storm after law enforcement agencies launched a preplanned investigation. Francois Schoeman shed some light on the incident. Teams from the SAPS national investigation and the crime intelligence team were tasked with apprehending an individual who was linked to an ongoing criminal investigation. The operation was initially successful, but took a darker turn when an exchange of gunfire resulted in the death of a suspect.
The Operation’s Aftermath
Colonel Robert Netshiunda provided a detailed description of the tragic incident. According to his account, officers of the KZN stability team acted on intelligence and pinpointed the location where the suspects involved in the Richards Bay case were. Two suspects tragically lost their lives in the ensuing shootout.
